The $23 million 11,500 m2 ICICS/CS Building at UBC, designed in association with Bregman + Hamann Architects, accommodates funded research and teaching space for a variety of multi-disciplinary activities. Lab areas are organized vertically into three functional groups. The new 7-storey concrete building is inter-connected with the Engineering Precinct. The building meets UBC’s sustainability targets and includes a radiant cooling slab system allowing it to perform at 50% of the model national energy code.
