HBBH undertook the design of a regionally focused YMCA, in South Surrey, BC. The 6,130 square metre, $10.2 million facility is organized around a two-storey atrium, which runs the full width of the building, dividing building functions into controlled private areas and uncontrolled public areas. The atrium contains three entries; lounge, meeting space, food services and spectator areas for the gym and swimming pool. Designed in association with Shore Tilbe Irwin & Partners. |
